Nissan Magnit 2020 |
After premiering the world in concept form on July 16,
Nissan on Tuesday revealed the interiors of Magnite Concept, on which the production-spec model will be based. The company is betting big on Magnit which is going to be a direct rival to the already established players in the segment like the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue and the upcoming Sonat of Kia.
According to the latest concept images,
the interiors of the magnets will carry the body color theme inside. The cabin will be decorated in an intense black / red color combo with chrome touch-ups on the door handle and steering wheel. There is a minimalist approach to the overall design on the cabin of the magnets that has been executed effectively.
Taking center stage on the dashboard will be a floating-style 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, sandwiched between air-con vents on the higher side for AC control and other functions at the bottom.
The Magnite will feature an all-digital virtual driver
screen protected by a multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel that looks compact. The seats will feature contrast body color stitching which gives it sportier appeal. Some of the features already confirmed for Magnit include a 360-degree camera and cruise control.
In terms of mechanicals,
the magnets will have a 72 PS, 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine and a 95 PS, 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit. The engine will come with a manual gearbox. Naturally there will also be an AMT auto option on aspirated engines and a CVT automatic option on a turbo-petrol unit.
The company has confirmed the launch of magnets in India for the second half of FY 2020-21. The subcompact SUV is most likely to arrive in 2020 or early 2021.
Nissan magnets are an evolutionary leap in Nissan's global SUV DNA.
Nixon Motor India managing director Rakesh Srivastava said, "With state-of-the-art technology, it will be a game-changer in its segment."
