The Tata Altroz is the first offering from the Indian carmaker in the premium hatchback
segment and was launched back in January 2020. To make its mid-range XT variants a little more attractive, possibly based on customer feedback, Tata Motors has introduced its smaller devices. Update.
What's new with Tata Altroz XT?
With this update Tata has added automatic climate control to the mid-spec XT variants of the Altroz. Prior to the update, the Altroz XT was only available with a manual AC and the feature was reserved for the XZ and XZ (O) trims only.
In addition, the XT trim is still very well loaded,
with features such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a part-digital instrument cluster with a 7.0-inch color screen, keyless entry and go Huh. Cruise control, rear-view camera, electrically adjustable and folding wing mirrors, LED day-time running lights and 16-inch alloy wheels, just to name a few.

The Tata Ultraz offers an 86hp, 1.2-liter petrol engine and a 90hp, 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engine - both paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox; There is no automatic option yet. The XT trim is priced at Rs 6.84 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 8.44 lakh for the diesel version (ex-showroom, India), which is interestingly similar to the pre-update model.
In terms of competition, Tata Altraz competes in the premium hatchback segment and prefers the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza and Hyundai i20.
