Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta Variants Updated With Smart Play Studio

Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta Variants Updated With SmartPlay Studio;

 Prices start from 5.98 Lakh

The SmartPlay Studio infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and was previously only available on the range-topping Alpha-trim. The feature upgrade comes with a price increase.

The Zeta variants on the Maruti Suzuki Ignis facelift BS6

 have been updated with the SmartPlay Studio infotainment system. It was previously only available on the hatchback's range-topping Alpha variant. The new feature however brings a price increase on the BS6 Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta variant as it is now priced at ₹ 5.98 lakh for the manual and ₹ 6.45 lakh for the AMT version (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). Compared to the prices announced in February for the facelift, the model is now more expensive than 500 8500. The base price remains unchanged with the range starting from ₹ 4.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) on the Ignis facelift.

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta variant was first introduced with the 2-DIN audio system,

 which has now been replaced with a 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment unit. The system is feature-packed and can be found in almost all new Maruti offerings, at least in the top variants. Most notably, the unit offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. If the car has this feature then it also doubles as a display for the reverse camera with guidelines. The touchscreen unit gets a user-friendly interface and also brings live traffic updates through the SmartPlay Studio app.

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis is a grade below the Zeta Alpha variant

 and was always a decently priced option. The trim already comes with chrome accents on fog lamps, front grille, alloy wheels, rear defogger, rear wiper, engine start-stop, electrically folding ORVMs, four speakers and two tweeters. However, it misses LED projector lights and DRLs, puddle lamps, automatic climate control and a height-adjustable driver's seat. The price difference between the Zeta and Alpha trims is for 81,000 for the manual and for 75,000 for the AMT version.

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis BS6 is powered by a 1.2-liter

 VVT petrol engine that develops 82 Bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. The motor is mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT unit. The facelifted model received cosmetic updates including a new chrome grille, revised front and rear bumper, beef skid plate, new roof rails and a spoiler. Ignis likes Ford Figo, Mahindra KUV100 NXT, Hyundai Grand i10 and in the segment.
