Japanese flagship auto Honda plans to launch its all-new compact SUV Weasel in India,

which made its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show earlier this year. The concept version of this urban SUV was launched in January 2013 at the Detroit Motor Show. This vehicle can also be shown at the Indian Auto Expo in February. The Honda Vezel has recently been launched in Japan for 1.87 million yen (i.e. around Rs 11.14 lakh). Being an urban SUV, the Honda Weasel will enter the growing compact SUV segment in India, where some very capable products like the Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport are already doing really well.

The compact SUV will be spacious and up-market compared to its rivals.

Weigel is expected to be equipped with the highly advanced Honda's original G-Force Control Technology (G-Con), City Brake Active System, electric parking brake, pedestrian injury body and automatic brake hold with Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body . The quality of the interior will be the best in this segment. The front seats feature a coupe-like private space and the rear seats offer room with ample elbows like a minivan. Large boot space seems very practical. In Japan, the Honda Weasel is available in eight different colors, two alloy wheels and a steel wheel option, and we are expecting similar options to be offered in India as well. It is likely to receive high-quality soundproofing materials and moisture to offer a pleasant drive.

Honda Vezel Interior

The interior of the all-new Honda Weasel will be inspired by the Jazz and CR-V. It looks very premium both in appearance and texture. Equipped with various bells and whistles, its cabin feels quite comfortable.

Honda Vezel Engine & Transmission

Honda will offer the all-new diesel with two-wheel drive (2WD) options in 1.5-liter petrol and 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel engines. In Japan, the mini SUV is only available with a petrol engine. The 1.5-liter, four-cylinder petrol unit produces a peak power of 132bhp and torque of 155Nm. Another electric motor version, but with the same 1.5-liter petrol engine. Both petrol mills are provided with either a CVT or a seven-speed CVT in a two-wheel drive (2WD) or four-wheel drive (4WD) configuration.

Honda Vezel Mileage

The 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine is expected to deliver a good mileage of 13kmpl in the city and 17-18 kmpl on the highways, while the 1.5-liter i-DTEC engine delivers an impressive 18 kmpl in the city and 23 kmpl on the highways. is likely to. .

Honda Vezel Braking & Safety

The braking performance is excellent and the wazel is able to shed fast with a load of confidence. When it comes to safety technology the Honda Vezel is expected to offer top class and high end safety features including anti-lock brake system, electronic brake force distribution. Automatic brake hold as well as pedestrian injury mitigation body and Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body, G-Force Control Technology (G-Con), Brake Assist, City Brake Active System, Electronic Stability Program and Traction Control System. Apart from this, the car will come with a host of airbags, child safety lock, rear parking etc.

Honda Vezel Performance & Handling

Honda cars always have great driving dynamics and the weasel is no different. Weizel's engines are in full lower and mid level rev bands with linear power delivery and you don't have to go down repeatedly to go. The gearbox butter is smooth and is a pleasure to use with a light clutch for driving Relax stop-go in traffic. Under city driving conditions, the Weasel performs exceptionally well, which is easy to drive with punchy low down performance. The steering feels reasonably connected at high speeds, offering enough feedback to inspire confidence to push around at a reasonable speed. The 185 mm ground clearance does a great job of keeping the underbelly untouched. The suspension of the weasel has become slightly stiffer, but there is no hindrance to its ride quality. The setup handles small pits and handles the unevenness of the roads smoothly, with only large pits passing through the cabin.
